The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of marital satisfaction in the relationship between basic needs and marital commitment among teachers in Mashhad. The statistical population of the present study included 2000 married elementary school teachers in Mashhad, (1112 women and 888 men) who were working in the academic year 1401-1402. The sample size was 322 people selected using the proportional stratified sampling method based on the Kerejci and Morgan table (188 women, 134 men). The research tools included the Adams and Jones Marital Commitment Questionnaire (1997), Glasser's Basic Needs Questionnaire (1995), and Enrich's Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (1982). SPSS22 and Smart PLS3 software were used to analyze the data of this study. The results showed that marital satisfaction plays a mediating role in the relationship between basic needs (and its components) and marital commitment. Considering the needs raised and the commitment of couples and the relationship of these needs with marital satisfaction and commitment, the aforementioned model can be used in the form of a training package to enrich couples' relationships in counseling clinics.the aforementioned model can be used in the form of a training package to enrich couples' relationships in counseling clinics.the aforementioned model can be used in the form of a training package to enrich couples' relationships in counseling clinics.
