Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of mindfulness in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital conflicts among all married male and female psychology students of non-profit institutions in Mashhad (Kavian, Bahar, Iqbal Lahori, Hakim Toos, Shandiz, Tabran, Hekmat Razavi, Khorasan, and Qaragarayan Motahar) who were studying in the academic year 1401-1402. This study is applied research in terms of its purpose and descriptive correlational research in terms of its nature and method. The sample size of the study was 300 people using the proportional stratified sampling method. To collect data for this study, the questionnaires of early maladaptive schemas by Young (1990), marital conflicts by Barati and Sanaei (1993), and mindfulness by Bauer et al. (2006) were used. The obtained data were analyzed at two levels of descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation test and structural equations) and by SPSS and Smart PLS software. The results showed that mindfulness has a mediating role in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital conflicts. The results showed that mindfulness has a mediating role in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital conflicts. The results showed that mindfulness has a mediating role in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital conflicts.
